College football rankings: Updated top 25 in Coaches, AP polls

Rivalry Week has come and gone, with only one notable outcome — No. 16 Texas over No. 3 Texas A&M — causing any significant changes in the updated college football rankings.

The Aggies are set to drop a few spots in the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 following their 27-17 loss to the Longhorns on Friday, Nov. 28. They’re also at significant risk of dropping out of first-round bye territory in the College Football Playoff bracket after being eliminated from SEC championship contention.

No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 10 Alabama narrowly held on to wins in the regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 29, likely staying in the top 10 of the rankings and, subsequently, the CFP bracket.

The Sooners defeated LSU 17-13 on a late touchdown pass by John Mateer to Isaiah Sategna, and the Crimson Tide won on a fourth-and-2 touchdown pass in the fourth quarter from Ty Simpson to Isaiah Horton, who scored three times against archrival Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

Next up is conference championship week, where No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana will play for the top spot in the 12-team bracket. Here’s a look at the latest US LBM Coaches Poll after the conclusion of the regular season:
