Three-time Pro Bowl selection reunites with NFC playoff contender

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are turning to a trusted figure for a late-season boost to their pass rush.

Three-time Pro Bowl edge rusher is signing to the team’s practice squad, his agents confirmed to NFL Network.

Pierre-Paul, 36, last played in the NFL in 2023, when he made a combined three appearances for the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins.

After working out for the Buccaneers on Monday, Pierre-Paul is set to rejoin the organization he played for from 2018-21. In 2020, he recorded 9 1/2 sacks and earned his third Pro Bowl nod – and his first since 2020 – and helped the Buccaneers to their second Super Bowl title.

With Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay dropped to 7-6 and into a tie with the Carolina Panthers for first place in the NFC South. Since coming off their Week 9 bye, the Buccaneers have gone 1-4 and given up an average of 29.4 points per game.
