Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder has been suspended three games without pay by the NBA ‘for confronting and attempting to strike another player,’ the league announced Saturday night.
According to the NBA’s news release, Schroder sought out and initiated a confrontation with a player in an arena hallway following the Kings’ 125-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 28 at LA’s Crypto.com Arena.
The incident occurred approximately 40 minutes after the Kings-Lakers game, the league said.
The league did not identify the opposing player, but multiple reports indicate Luka Doncic was the Lakers player who drew Schroder’s ire. The pair were seen getting into it on the court during that night’s game.
Schroder will miss the next three games for Sacramento. His suspension begins Sunday when the Kings host the Houston Rockets.
The last time the Kings played the Rockets was on Dec. 21. Sacramento won the game, 125-124, in overtime after Schroder hit a game-winning 3 and helped force a Kevin Durant miss with 2.2 seconds left.
Schroder will also be forced to sit out against the Lakers and New York Knicks.
The Kings have lost seven-consecutive games, their last win coming on Dec. 27 in a 113-107 victory against the Dallas Mavericks.
