Jayden Reed injury update: Latest news on Packers WR

The Green Bay Packers open Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season in a ‘Thursday Night Football’ matchup at home against the Washington Commanders.

The game is just minutes into the first quarter and they may be down their top wide receiver from a year ago.

Reed was slow to get up after making the catch in the end zone. He ultimately made his way to the sideline and the Packers have ruled him out of the game, per multiple reports.

Jayden Reed injury update

Packers coach Matt LaFleur told reporters after Thursday’s game that Reed had suffered a broken collarbone on the play he was injured.

‘He’ll be down for quite some time,’ LaFleur said. ‘We’ll see how fast he can recover and heal. Certainly I would expect him back at some point in the season.’

LaFleur expressed optimism about the Packers’ receiving depth behind Reed but acknowledged losing the third-year pro is ‘a big blow’ for the team.

‘He’s a guy that is a catalyst for our offense and for our football team, quite frankly,’ LaFleur said.

Reed led the Packers with 55 catches and 857 receiving yards in 2024 and his six receiving touchdowns were second-most on the team.
